Imphal, November 08: An amount of Rs 280 crores, out of the state annual Plan 2001-2002 allocation of Rs 520 crores has been designated as core annual Plan amount and earmarked for priority release of funds.

It may be mentioned that the sectoral allocation of the annual Plan amount of Rs 520 crores for the ongoing financial year was finalized during a meeting of the Governor-in-council held yesterday.

According to finance department sources, out of the core annual Plan amount proposed for priority release, Rs 76.76 crores has been earmarked for salaries, Rs 1.10 crores for slum development, Rs 4.16 crores for BADP, Rs 2.5 crores for shifting cultivation, Rs 55.79 crores for PMGY, Rs 3.03 crores for roads and bridges, Rs 41.72 crores in specific earmarking, Rs 10.58 crores for EFC, Rs 1 crore for WAP, Rs 8.90 crores for AIBP, Rs 2 crores for NABARD, Rs 20.74 crores to meet the backlog of state's matching share of Centrally sponsored schemes, and Rs 2.65 crores for meeting the current year's matching share of CSS, plus Rs 49.07 crores for district infrastructure.

The annual Plan amount of Rs 520 crores includes a one-time additional Central Assistance component of Rs 62.54 crores.

This covers provision to Rs 7 crores for the Thoubal Multipurpose project, Rs 7 crores for the Dolaithabi barrage project, Rs 18 crores for the Khuga Multipurpose project, Rs 10 crores for the Imphal water supply scheme, Rs 5 crores for sewerage (state share), Rs 2 crores for the Loktak Development Authority, LDA, Rs 10 crores for improvement of infrastructure in the districts, Rs 0.29 crores for infrastructure development of Manipur University, Rs 0.25 crores for bamboo and cane development project (state share), Rs 1 crore for Tamenglong-Khongsang road upgradation.

It also covers infrastructure development for the Manipur Bhavans at Guwahati, Salt Lake and New Delhi, and transit hostel at Imphal.

As approved in the meeting of the Governor-in-council yesterday, sectoral allocation for agriculture and allied activities amounts to Rs 2243 lakhs, Rs 3716 lakhs for rural development, Rs 416 lakhs for special area programmes, Rs 9937 for irrigation and flood control, Rs 4191 lakhs for energy, Rs 8458 lakhs for industry and minerals, Rs 2582 lakhs for transport, Rs 313 lakhs for science, technology and environment; Rs 1182 lakhs for general economic services, Rs 17172 lakhs for social services, Rs 1070 lakhs for general services.

An amount of Rs 100 lakhs has been allocated for national highway patrolling scheme, Rs 300 lakhs for revenue (district) administration, Rs 50 lakhs for judicial administration, Rs 50 lakhs for fiscal administration, Rs 200 lakhs for GAD, and Rs 20 lakhs for fire services.

Within agriculture and allied services, agriculture gets Rs 545 lakhs and horticulture Rs 556 lakhs.

Border area development gets Rs 416 lakhs.

Among social services Rs 2030 lakhs has been earmarked for education (s), Rs1190 lakhs for education (u), Rs 234 lakhs for SCERT, Rs 136 for adult education, Rs 323 lakhs for technical education, Rs 266 lakhs for sports, Rs 711 lakhs for arts and culture, Rs 1486 lakhs for medical services Rs 6125 lakhs for water supply and Rs 403 lakhs for rental housing, Rs 1082 lakhs for urban housing and Rs 110 lakhs for police housing.

MAHUD gets Rs 758 lakhs, while the capitol project has been allocated Rs 526 lakhs.
